Keynote Speaker Ted Hope
Celebrated producer and industry commentator Ted Hope, will balance craft and business issues while examining the trends, innovations, mavericks and tastemakers that have influenced the documentary world over the past 12 months. He will also outline the impact of last year’s significant developments, with comments and hot tips for what the next year will bring. 2012 Doc Mogul Award Recipient Diane Weyermann
Hot Docs will present Diane Weyermann with the 2012 Doc Mogul Award. Executive Vice President of Documentary Films for Participant Media and founder of the Sundance Documentary Fund, Weyermann will be presented with the Doc Mogul Award at a luncheon in her honour, to be held on Tuesday, May 1. Davis Guggenheim in Conversation with Doc Mogul Diane Weyermann
Hot Docs 2012 Doc Mogul Award recipient Diane Weyermann will sit down with renowned director Davis Guggenheim (WAITING FOR “SUPERMAN” and AN INCONVENIENT TRUTH) to discuss her extensive knowledge of documentary production, illustrious career and philosophical approach to documentaries and social action cinema.
Jon Reiss on Strategic Distribution
Acclaimed filmmaker and media strategist Jon Reiss will host a half-day workshop and speak at a session, both of which will focus on navigating the changing distribution and marketing landscape. A consultant for numerous filmmakers and film organizations and author of the first step-by-step guide for hybrid and alternative distribution and marketing, Reiss’ session and workshop will provide valuable opportunities for attendees to learn from his vast knowledge and experience.
