Rendezvous

Coming to Hot Docs with a project in development? Take advantage of Rendezvous, a pitch meeting service that provides valuable one-on-one access to attending commissioning editors, buyers and sales agents.

Facilitated by the Sales Office and taking place throughout the Festival’s conference week, the Rendezvous service is open to all Networking and Market Pass and Hot Docs Forum Pass holders with a minimum of one producing or directing credit for a broadcast or theatrically released project. There is no additional fee to participate.

Rendezvous Format

Buyers commit to a two-hour meeting slot during the Hot Docs conference and take pitch meetings with producers who have projects in all stages of development.

Prior to the festival, producers anonymously submit their projects to appropriately selected buyers. The sales office keeps the identity of the producer a secret so that all producers have an equal footing. Buyers will then be sent an electronic package of the projects that were submitted and have requested meetings with them. They will select the projects that are of most interest and soon the matchmaking begins!

2012 Rendezvous

Our re-vamped Rendezvous program will run in Burwash Hall next door to the Rogers Industry Centre from Monday, April 30, to Friday, May 4. Slots will be scheduled between 10:00 am and noon, and 2:00 pm and 4:00 pm.

Buyers interested in signing up for Rendezvous should contact Chloe Sosa-Sims, Market and Forum Coordinator, via email at csosasims@hotdocs.ca by March 13.

Registration for Rendezvous will open on March 20 and close on April 3. Registration will take place online via the Hot Docs Industry Community. Please keep in mind registered delegates must have either the Hot Docs Forum Pass or the Networking & Marketing Pass to participate in Rendezvous.
