“Behind every man now alive stand 30 ghosts, for that is the ratio by which the dead outnumber the living.” - Arthur C. Clarke (1968)
For the better part of a year, we’ve been hanging out in cemeteries and abandoned houses with Kim Hadfield and the team at Halton Paranormal. 30 GHOSTS is a raw, cinematic look at Hadfield, a horse farmer from rural Ontario who goes to great lengths to follow her dream of proving that ghosts exist.
30 GHOSTS is equal parts dramatic and lighthearted. Some of our favourite moments from the documentary include Hadfield philosophizing on the afterlife while hopping a tall fence to get to an abandoned house, as well as a hilarious scene of her directing a short promo video in a cemetery. Even though Hadfield has a bizarre passion, she’s an every-woman in the strongest sense of the word. We give our personal filmmaker guarantee that you will find her story inspirational.
The race is on to complete 30 GHOSTS in time to submit to the 2013 Hot Docs Festival. Right now we are a couple of months away from finishing shooting, and we can push our credit cards to cover the production side of things, but because this project is currently 100% self-funded we know that those cards will read “declined” at any of the post-production facilities in Toronto.
THE GOAL: To raise the $15,000 needed to for post-production, including HD, colour correction, and a 5.1 surround sound audio mix.
We sincerely hope that you’ll get involved in our Doc Ignite campaign to bring 30 GHOSTS to life. The film is raw, inspiring, and occasionally spine-tingling.
