About the filmmakers
Amar Wala | Director / Producer
Amar is an award-winning filmmaker based in Toronto, Canada. He was born in Bombay, India, and moved to Toronto with his family at the age of 11. He has a degree in Film Production from York University. He believes deeply in cinema’s ability to change minds and create discussion. His short film, The Good Son, had its world premiere at The 4th Annual Dubai International Film Festival, and went on to screen at festivals around the world and win several awards in Canada. In 2008, Toronto International Film Festival Director Cameron Bailey named Amar one of the Top Ten Local Filmmakers in Now Magazine.
Noah Bingham | Producer
Noah is a filmmaker with a passion for documentary and cinema that humanizes complicated social issues. He holds a degree in Film Production and International Development Studies from York University, where he met director Amar Wala. The two of them share the belief that film is a powerful tool to raise awareness and bring people from diverse perspectives into dialogue with one another. Noah is also Vice-President and Founding Board Member of Good Evidence, a non-profit organization that challenges harmful representations and promotes engagement by showcasing work being accomplished on social, economic and environmental issues by community initiatives globally.
