About Face: The Supermodels, Then and Now
72 minutes | USA | Canadian Premiere | Rating: 14A
Renowned portrait photographer and filmmaker Timothy Greenfield-Sanders brings together fashion’s legendary models to reflect on their careers within an industry built on, and by, their beauty. Covering the development of these famous faces from the 1940s through the 1980s, we hear through candid interviews their thoughts on a culture obsessed with youth, and their own place in it now that the signs of aging are becoming ever present. With a collective wisdom gained through careers that brought them to the forefront of issues including substance abuse, race and plastic surgery, they give an overview of how the perception of beauty has changed over the last few generations. Featuring Isabella Rossellini, Jerry Hall, Beverly Johnson, Christie Brinkley, Carol Alt, Paulina Porizkova and more, About Face: The Supermodels, Then and Now is a candid portrait of what it means to be beautiful.
