The first feature from renowned experimental short filmmaker Marie Losier, The Ballad of Genesis and Lady Jaye beautifully presents the unique relationship between Genesis P-Orridge, one of the most influential figures in underground industrial music, and his collaborator and muse, Lady Jaye. Always living through bold artistic expression, these two embark on a journey to fuse their individual identities into one by undergoing surgeries to more closely resemble each other. After Lady Jaye’s tragic death in 2007, P-Orridge and Losier create a tribute to her life, influence and legacy. Celebrated in this film is a quietly beautiful and charming visionary who never stepped into the spotlight when she was alive. Losier’s distinctive filmic vision is the perfect vehicle to tell the shocking, mind-expanding and tender story of Genesis and his Lady Jaye. - Lynne Crocker
