Dock Ellis & The LSD No-No
5 minutes | International Premiere | Rating: PG
One of the most famous events in Major League Baseball’s history was in June 1970 when Pittsburgh Pirate Dock Ellis pitched a no-hitter…on LSD. Once the MLB organization heard the story, fearing drug use would taint the sport’s reputation, the original footage disappeared. This utterly hilarious animated rendering recreates Ellis’ story with his narration, commemorating his truly unbelievable story. Remember kids, just say no-no! - Karina Rotenstein
Dock Ellis & The LSD No-No also screens as part of Hot Docs’ new Rooftop Docs Series on Thursday, May 6, on the top outdoor tier of Citipark Cumberland Parking Garage. Enjoy live music, bar service courtesy of Steamwhistle, free popcorn from Whole Foods and fantastic docs under the stars.
