Ethel
97 minutes | USA | International Premiere | Rating: G
This tender portrait of Ethel Kennedy, wife of former attorney general and senator Robert Kennedy, is told by Ethel’s 11th and youngest child, Emmy award-winning director Rory Kennedy. It’s the first time Ethel has spoken on camera for 30 years. Through a treasure trove of photographs and footage from the family archive, Ethel’s story is revealed as that of a woman who never sought the limelight though she had a front row seat to many of the most important events of the 20th century. A famously strong-willed matriarch, Ethel instilled a sense of compassion in her family, tasking each child with finding a social cause of their own. Rory brings together seven of her brothers and sisters to build a picture of a woman who lived within one of the most famous political dynasties of our time. Charlotte Cook
