The newspapers of the 1960s called her the “luckiest girl in the world.” As a teenager working in a typing pool, Freda Kelly was plucked from her desk and taken to the Cavern, where a local up-and-coming band—the Beatles—were playing. For the next decade, she worked as personal secretary and fan club manager for the biggest rock ’n’ roll band in history. Though Freda was a trusted member of the band’s inner circle, she has never before gone on record to speak about her integral role in Beatlemania. Still working as a secretary, never in it for the money or fame, she opens up for the first time in 50 years. Ryan White’s film gives Freda a well-deserved moment in the spotlight and creates a portrait of a dedicated, humble and charming woman who was loved and respected by John, Paul, George and Ringo.
