Hunting Bobby Oatway
45 minutes | Canada | Rating: 14A
Bobby Oatway was sentenced to 10 years in prison for sexually assaulting his children. The moment of his release into a halfway house, far away from his original crimes, sees the beginning of a huge campaign by his ex-sisters-in-law to identify him to his new community. With local councillors and a mob of fearful and outraged parents picketing his new residence, Bobby Oatway finds his new freedom more restrictive than he expected. In addition, the other residents of his new home are far from happy about sharing their accommodation with him. Only allowed outside the home when accompanied by an escort, Bobby realizes his actions may have cost him much more than he thought. A fascinating look into the ethics and ideology of freedom and rights, Hunting Bobby Oatway is a portrait of a man forever trapped in a prison of his own creation. Charlotte Cook
