The Kid and the Clown
There’s something about the way Tobias stares every so often at the camera in this moving documentary that tells you he understands more about life and its hardships than most of us ever did when we were his age. At six years old, Tobias is undergoing rigorous cancer treatments in Sekjby Sygehus, one of Denmark’s largest academic hospitals. His is a world full of injections, treatments, tests, nurses, doctors and pain. Yet when Angus, the hospital clown, comes to visit twice a week, his face lights up. After all, he’s still a kid. Like two best friends, Angus and Tobias play Guitar Hero and roam the halls of the oncology department as masked bandits while waiting for the next round of treatments to start. Juan Baquero
