Corus-Hot Docs Funds
After successfully distributing its allocated funding over eight years to 147 documentaries, the Corus-Hot Docs Funds are closing. Established in 2008, the $4-million Funds provided production grants and no-interest development loans to projects at critical stages.
Over the years, the Funds have supported stories and filmmakers from every corner of Canada, bringing diverse perspectives to the screen. We are very proud of these outstanding documentaries and the Canadian talent we have helped nurture.

We are especially proud to announce that during the Funds’ lifetime, 60 per cent (89 of 147) of projects were female-led productions, defined as any film with a female director or producer.
Hot Docs remains available to support existing projects that have outstanding drawdowns or loan repayments to return. Please contact Heidi Tao Yang with questions or concerns.
Thank you to Corus and all the Corus-Hot Docs Funds alumni!
