Funding Media for Social Change - Hot Docs Conference Series

Today, social-issue storytellers are sharpening their craft, funders with finite resources are focusing on reach, and strategic innovators are creating more robust impact evaluation tools. Bringing together mission-aligned filmmakers, financiers and activists, this session offers a bird’s-eye view of the benefits for each of the key players and society as a whole. With frontline tales from the NFB, Good Pitch and Roundhouse Radio, author and change agent Tracey Friesen suggests that, given the right partnerships, media can impact hearts, minds, behaviours and public policy.
