Hot Docs received a total of 2088 film submissions.
Hot Docs 2010 will present 166 documentaries in the following 10 programs:
- Special Presentations (21);
- Canadian Spectrum (23);
- Focus On Tahani Rached (3);
- International Spectrum (32);
- World Showcase (26);
- Made In South America (12);
- Next (19);
- Small Acts (10);
- Ripping Reality (10);
- Outstanding Achievement Award Retrospective honouring Kim Longinotto (10).
Hot Docs will present 48 films by first-time filmmakers.
Hot Docs will present a total of:
- 20 world premieres;
- 30 international premieres;
- 26 North American premieres;
- 48 Canadian premieres;
- 16 Toronto premieres.
Hot Docs selections are drawn from 41 countries. Documentaries were produced and/or co-produced by the following countries:
- 47 from the USA;
- 30 from Canada;
- 20 from the United Kingdom;
- 10 from Germany;
- seven from Brazil;
- six from Netherlands;
- five from Finland, France, and Israel;
- four from Sweden;
- three from Argentina, Denmark, Iceland, Poland, and Switzerland;
- two from Belgium, Columbia, Egypt, Iran, Ireland, Japan, New Zealand, Peru, Slovakia, and Spain;
- one from Australia, Austria, Chile, China, Czech Republic, Democratic Republic of Congo, Iraq, Italy, Mexico, Norway, Palestine, Republic of Cameroon, Romania, South Africa, South Korea, and Yemin.
