Doc Camp
Doc Camp is a week-long introduction to documentary filmmaking for aspiring directors, ages 14 to 18 – no experience necessary and it’s absolutely FREE!
Offering youth a dynamic combination of hands-on creativity and lively interaction, Doc Camp participants will learn how to plan, shoot and edit their own short doc while also taking part in exclusive sessions with special guest speakers, including some of Canada’s leading documentarians.
Whether you’re a burgeoning director or just looking for a creative way to express yourself, Hot Docs’ Doc Camp is a unique summer experience not to be missed!
Doc Camp 2010
The application deadline for Doc Camp 2010 has now passed. You will be notified via e-mail and phone by Thursday, June 24, 2010 if you are accepted. If you are accepted and under the age of 18, we will be in touch with a parent or guardian to confirm permission for your participation.
Doc Camp 2010 will take place:

Please note:
- Doc Camp is offered free to aspiring documentary filmmakers aged 14-18, living in Ontario.
- Participants must be available to attend all five days.
Technology, ideas, inspiration and content are key components of Doc Camp. Film experience is not necessary as we will teach you the technology while offering inspiration and content to develop your ideas. Each day you will learn about the technical side of filmmaking from our workshop leader and assistants, and you will learn about the realities of the documentary world from our daily guest speakers.
