Before it was cool or on trend to shake up the establishment, award-winning director Maya Gallus and the renowned Chef Anita Lo (Annisa, Rickshaw, Bar Q) were already breaking the rules and revolutionizing their industries. Following a screening of The Heat: A Kitchen (R)evolution, we’ll grab a drink at Ricarda’s with these two incredible women as we discuss what it means to break the norms and forge new paths within hospitality and filmmaking.

Following a screening of Chef Flynn, join us for brunch with Chef Carl Heinrich (Richmond Station) at The Anne Boleyn. Carl got his start at age 13 as a dishwasher and hasn’t left the kitchen since. After finishing culinary school, he went on to train under talented and notable chefs in Vancouver, New York, France and Monaco before opening his own restaurant with his friend and former classmate, Ryan Donavan. We’ll delve in what it means to be a young award-winning chef and how Carl plans to nurture the next gastronomic generation. Chef Carl Heinrich will be joined by The Little Locavore, Liam Lewis.

Drinks: Orange juice, and coffee or tea
Starter: Scones with Devonshire cream and Pimm’s strawberry jam

Following our final screening of Constructing Albert, immerse yourself in an afternoon getaway to Spain at Campo Food Hall. Join us as we sit down for tapas with the talented Chef Rob Bragagnolo (Carver and Campo Food Hall). In this intimate conversation, we’ll learn more about his experiences staging with the creative mastermind, Albert Adrià at TICKETS in Barcelona, living in Spain for 12 years, and how that influenced his plans for bringing a stunning Spanish bodega and food hall to Toronto. Filmmakers also in attendance.
